Suffer a Hernia While Working? You Must Act Quickly – Fall/Winter 2019-2020

Hernia are treated differently than other injuries under New Jersey Workers’ Compensation law in that there is a very strict notice requirement. Under N.J.S.A. 34:15-12(c) (23), notice must be given to an employer within 48 hours of the occurrence of a hernia for it to be considered compensable.
